🌿  Welcome to Wild Minds   ðŸŒ¿

At Wild Minds Allied Health, we embrace the concept of wild as a celebration of genuine authenticity, emotional freedom, and the natural diversity of human minds. Rather than something to be tamed or fixed, wild reflects the untamed strengths, passions, and unique ways of thinking that often lie beneath the surface. We believe in creating space for individuals—children, adolescents, and adults—to reconnect with their true selves, honour their inner world, and thrive on their own terms. At the heart of our approach is a commitment to neuroaffirming, compassionate, and evidence-based support that sees difference not as deficit, but as a powerful expression of the wild and wonderful potential within every mind.

Our values

Our values guide how we work with individuals, families and communities. They reflect our commitment to respectful, ethical and evidence-based practice, and shape every aspect of how support is delivered at Wild Minds Allied Health.

person-centred

Why this matters
This value reflects a commitment to understanding behaviour, learning and wellbeing through a strengths-based, non-pathologising lens. It recognises neurodiversity, lived experience and individual context, rather than applying one-size-fits-all interventions. A neuro-affirming stance is strongly supported by contemporary psychological and developmental research and aligns with human rights-based disability practice.

In practice

  • Respect for identity, autonomy and voice

  • Individualised goals shaped by the person and their family

  • Focus on strengths, not deficits

Trauma-Informed & Relational

Why this matters
There is robust evidence that safety, predictability and relational trust are prerequisites for meaningful therapeutic change. A trauma-informed approach acknowledges the impact of adversity, stress and relational experiences on behaviour, regulation and engagement, without assuming trauma is always present.

In practice

  • Prioritising emotional and physical safety

  • Working at the pace of the individual

  • Building strong, consistent therapeutic relationships

  • Supporting regulation before skill acquisition

Ethical, Evidence-Based & Accountable

Why this matters
Ethical and evidence-based practice protects clients, families and practitioners alike. This value anchors Wild Minds Allied Health in professional accountability, clinical governance and transparency, ensuring interventions are grounded in research, professional standards and measurable outcomes.

In practice

  • Use of validated assessment tools and proven interventions

  • Clear scope of practice and informed consent

  • Ongoing evaluation, reflection and professional development

  • Alignment with APS, AHPRA and NDIS expectations

Our Services

Wild Minds Allied Health provides evidence-based psychological and allied health supports for children, adolescents, adults and families. Services are tailored, neuro-affirming and trauma-informed, and may be accessed through the NDIS, Medicare or private funding pathways. We work collaboratively to support wellbeing, build capacity and promote meaningful participation across everyday settings.

Who We Support

Wild Minds Allied Health supports children, adolescents, adults and families across Tasmania. We work with individuals who are navigating emotional, behavioural, developmental and psychological challenges, including neurodevelopmental differences, trauma, anxiety, mood difficulties and life transitions. Our supports are tailored, collaborative and grounded in evidence-based practice, with a strong focus on building capacity, wellbeing and meaningful participation across home, school, work and community settings.

How we Help

Wild Minds Allied Health provides ethical, evidence-based psychological supports that are tailored to each individual and family. We take a collaborative, neuro-affirming and trauma-informed approach, working alongside clients, carers, schools and other professionals to understand strengths, needs and goals. Support may include assessment, therapy, parent and family guidance, early intervention and behaviour support, delivered in a way that prioritises safety, dignity, regulation and long-term skill development. Our focus is on practical, sustainable strategies that support wellbeing and meaningful participation in everyday life.

Funding Pathways

Wild Minds Allied Health offers services through a range of funding pathways to ensure supports are accessible and appropriately aligned to individual needs. We provide services under the NDIS for participants with self-managed or plan-managed funding, including early childhood and capacity-building supports. We also accept Medicare referrals under a GP Mental Health Treatment Plan, as well as private fee-for-service appointments. Fees, billing processes and funding requirements are explained clearly prior to commencement, and we work collaboratively with families and referrers to ensure services align with funding guidelines and agreed goals.
