🌿 Our Story so far 🌿
Wild Minds director is Cassie Lobley, a Clinical Psychologist Registrar and fully registered school educator, leader and guidance counsellor of 20 years. Cassie has a Masters in Clinical Psychology, a Masters in Science Research (Psych) and a Masters in Education (Guidance & Counselling). She's currently completing her PhD in Trauma-informed Practice in Australian Schools through USQ where she has designed a unique tool to measure a school's level of trauma-informed practice encompassing the domains of Belonging, Reliability & Trust, Attachment, Voice & Choice, Emotional Regulation, School Systems, and Teaching Pedagogy (BRAVEST). Cassie also works as an NDIS approved Behaviour Support Practitioner (Specialist).
She is passionate about supporting children and young people, and naturally connects with those whose minds are a little more wild—authentic, curious, and wonderful! Cassie was brought up on a 48ft yacht with her four siblings and parents cruising around the East coast of Australia. Cassie and her husband worked in remote communities of Cape York for ten years whilst raising their two children. Cassie has a wide range of passions that reflect her adventurous and creative spirit—including cruising in her vintage caravan, fishing, exploring the world, scuba diving, cooking and diving headfirst into her many side projects.

Makayla Lobley, one of our therapy assistants, is currently studying her Bachelor of Psych (Hns) at UQ in Brisbane. Makayla grew up in remote Cape York for the first 10 years of her life camping, fishing, and hunting before moving to Tassie for highschool. Makayla assists Cassie's clients and groups in a variety of ways. She also assists with the behind-the-scenes administration work for comprehensive assessments sending online links and follow-up emails to keep our clients and families well informed and as supported as possible. Mak also enjoys working with parents to provide support in using the latest technology to engage with their children in similar interests.

And Mabel, our accredited therapy dog, may even stop by for a cuddle or 3!
